Hello! My name is Ashley Elizabeth Smith, & I am proud to be Miss International 2010! In March of this year, I was crowned Miss Texas International, & I went on to win the title of Miss International this July in Chicago.

I have dedicated my reign to promoting Breast Cancer Awareness & Early Detection. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with this disease in their lifetime. While we are finding a cure, early detection is the best way to lower a woman's risk of dying from breast cancer. I am very passionate about this cause because breast cancer has directly effected my family. My Momma was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 1994, and then the next year my grandmother was diagnosed as well. My grandmom lost her life three  years later, but I am proud to say my mom is a 16 year survivor!! She is here thanks to early detection as she was only 38 when diagnosed. I am currently working with The Rose, Avon Walk for the Cure, Susan G Komen, & other organizations to promote awareness around Texas & our country.
